So here’s how I solved this issue, open your Internet Explorer (IE) first. If it is not available, download and install the latest Internet Explorer version and then restart your system.
Now download from Microsoft’s website the KB3102810 update. Then restart the system. Install the downloaded update once your system is restarted. After completion of the setup, restart the system again.

Now you need to restore the folder of SoftwareDistribution where the updates of the windows are stored. C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution will locate this file. Here’s how to do it, open the Run command window (Windows + R keyboard shortcut) and type services.msc & Press OK.
Select the update windows from the Services List. Now right click on the menu and choose the stop option.
Rename the folder for SoftwareDistributionOLD now.
Note: This will help windows to build a new folder for SoftwareDistribution to store updates from scratch for windows.

Now start the windows update service.
