How to Enable and Disable iPhone 15 Pro Camera Focal Length Presets? When shooting with the main camera on Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro models, customers can choose from three preset focus lengths. This article defines them and discusses how to enable or disable them on your iPhone.

Apple has added three popular focal length settings for the main camera’s optical zoom to take advantage of the improved camera technology on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. There are three focal lengths available: 24mm (equal to 1x optical zoom), 28mm (1.2x optical zoom), and 35mm (1.5x optical zoom).

Apple has made these focal lengths available to photographers by employing computer processing to translate the 48-megapixel image that the new bigger sensor can capture into a high-resolution 24MP image.

You may manually switch between photo lengths in the Camera app by altering the optical zoom option. Tap the circled 1x icon at the bottom of the viewfinder to choose between 28mm (1.2x optical zoom) and 35mm (1.5x optical zoom), then back to 1x optical zoom.

  2. Scroll down to Camera.
  3. Select Main Camera.
  4. Under “Additional Lenses,” deactivate the switches adjacent to 28mm and/or 35mm.
  5. That’s all there is to it. Pressing the 1x button now always results in a 1x optical zoom.

  2. Scroll down to Camera.
  3. Select Main Camera.
