Apple has released a new firmware update for the AirPods Pro 2

Apple has released a new firmware update for the AirPods Pro 2. Apple has released fresh firmware for the AirPods Pro 2 with Lightning and AirPods Pro 2 with USB-C ports. The new firmware is 6A305, which replaces the 6A303 upgrade for the AirPods Pro 2 that was released on October 10.

Apple doesn’t specify what features would be included in the updated firmware, so it’s unclear what’s new. Apple added several new AirPods Pro 2 capabilities in iOS 17, including Adaptive Audio, Conversation Awareness, and Personalised Volume, so those changes may be refined further.

Apple does not provide instructions for upgrading the software in the AirPods, however, firmware is often installed over the air while the AirPods are connected to an iOS device. Putting the AirPods in the case, connecting them to a power source, and then pairing the AirPods with an iOS device or Mac should trigger the update.

You may check the firmware of your AirPods Pro by following these steps:

  1. Connect your Apple AirPods Pro to your iOS device.
  2. Launch the Settings app.
  3. Select General.
  4. Select About.
  5. Select AirPods from the menu.
  6. Examine the number beside “Firmware Version.”
