Apple iPhone 15 Pro: New Leaks Suggest a Big Upgrade on the Way

Apple iPhone 15 Pro: New Leaks Suggest a Big Upgrade on the Way. It won’t be long before Apple introduces its next iPhone series, which will include the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max (though the latter may simply have a different moniker). Do you want to know when the iPhones will be announced and available for purchase? More information can be found here.

According to two fresh claims, the upcoming handsets will receive a significant improvement in a crucial aspect of any phone: storage space.

Up to 2TB of storage space for the iPhone 15 Pro

First, the Apple iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models, according to Korean blogger yeux1122, would have a larger storage choice. “This is the supplier source,” they say, courtesy of Apple Translate. This time, the Apple iPhone 15 Pro and Max models will include a new 2-terabyte storage option.” The blogger’s focus could be due to the fact that a 2TB iPhone was previously rumoured but never materialised. The iPhone now has storage capacities of 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB for all models, as well as 1TB for Pro iPhones exclusively.

If the information is correct, an additional tier with 2TB storage will be available. If something appears excessive, it might not be. Extra capacity can be useful since, while most of our digital lives are kept in the cloud (such as iCloud), we increasingly require storage on our phones.

Some iPhone functions, such as shooting ProRes video in 4K resolution at 30 frames per second, necessitate more storage space. The iPhone 14 Pro requires 256GB of storage or more. Models with 128GB of storage can only shoot ProRes at 30 frames per second at 1080P resolution.

Storage capacity could begin at 256GB

Then there’s the second report, which was detected by MacRumors. According to a Weibo user, the upper end of the 15 Pro series would have a 2TB capacity. However, the story goes on to make a second claim, which translates as “Compared to the maximum storage, I hope to start with 256GB rather than 128GB.” After all, the cost has increased.”

This means that the storage capacities for the Pro iPhones will be 256GB, 512GB, 1TB, and 2 TB. There is no mention of what will happen to the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus.

How Trustworthy Are These Rumours?

The Weibo account is confusing the storage projection with a second price rise rumour. While it’s wonderful to justify something unpleasant (a higher price) with a benefit, it’s not certain. And if the Pro range starts at 256GB while the regulars stay at 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB, that will represent another level of separation between the iPhone 15 and 15 Pro.

What makes the 2TB less likely, in my opinion, is that Apple needs some excellent financial results in the coming months, and a top-end model with the eye-watering price that the 2TB could charge may not be the impression Apple wants to leave its customers with right now. The 1TB iPhone 14 Pro Max costs $1,599 right now; would Apple charge much more for 2TB capacity?

However, the transition to 256GB entry-level storage for the iPhone (and, by extension, the iPhone Pro smartphones) is long overdue.

There are already major improvements planned for this year, including reduced bezels surrounding the display, camera upgrades, improved repairability, and new display technologies. And that’s before we get to Game Mode, new eye-catching colours for the iPhone 15 Pro, and other upgrades for the iPhone 15. On or around September 12, there might be a lot of changes to take on board.

Updated on August 10th. Another leak has surfaced regarding the iPhone 15 series memory, this time RAM rather than storage. According to Unknownz21, a prolific leaker, there are now more specifics about the chip that will power the forthcoming iPhone Pro models, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max (assuming it isn’t renamed the iPhone 15 Ultra as some have speculated).

The fact that the new phones would have 6GB of RAM is hidden amid the specs for the new CPU, called the A17. This is the same as the A16 Bionic in the iPhone 14 Pro, which is also likely to appear in the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus. There had been rumours that Apple might increase RAM to 8GB for the upcoming models, but the leaker claims that they have only seen 6GB and that 8GB is “unlikely” but not impossible.

They also don’t rule out the potential of “a newer revision I don’t know about.” I should mention that the reaction to this leak on X has been one of huge and widespread disappointment that 8GB RAM does not appear to be included.

However, I believe Apple will have estimated how much RAM is required and will install it. The Pro models are Apple’s most costly iPhones, and the company does not want to hear complaints about poor performance.

This chip, on the other hand, is rumoured to be based using a 3nm fabrication technology, which offers significant efficiency advantages and performance possibilities. Increases in battery life, for example, are always nice.

Other specifics in the tweet pertain to the cores, which include six CPU and six GPU cores, compared to the A16 Bionic’s six CPU and five GPU cores. The maximum clock speed is also specified, and it is 3.70GHz, which is greater than the 3.46GHz found in the iPhone 14 Pro. The leaker also states that the 3nm process is being used and that TSMC will produce it.
