The CEO of Meta Messenger will step down in 2022
Stan Chudnovsky, the head of Messenger at Meta Platforms Inc, will quit the firm in 2022. He is also in charge of the integration of the social media network’s messaging apps.
Chudnovsky joined Meta, then known as Facebook, as product lead for messaging almost seven years ago. In 2018, he was transferred to the position of Head Messenger.
After IronPearl, a user tracking startup he co-founded, was bought by Paypal in 2013, he worked as the global level strategy head for the payments service.
In a Facebook post, Chudnovsky stated, “I’ll be quitting Meta at some point in Q2 next year.”
“I have no intention of retiring, but I am looking forward to a nice, long holiday.”
Facebook has been attempting to integrate communications across its suite of products since September when it initially permitted it between Instagram and Messenger. In August, it took a similar step with its name-brand app and Messenger.
Loredana Crisan, who has been at Meta for about six years, will take over as head of Messenger, which includes Instagram messaging and Messenger Kids, according to Chudnovsky.
According to Chudnovsky’s statement, Maher Saba, who has been with the firm since 2013, will be in charge of remote presence products and engineering.
In October, Facebook’s holding company changed its name to Meta, undergoing a makeover at a time when politicians and regulators have criticised the corporation’s market dominance, algorithmic judgments, and policing of abuses on its networks.
