WhatsApp channels have 500 million monthly active users, according to Zuckerberg. Mark Zuckerberg, the Founder and CEO of Meta, said on Wednesday that WhatsApp Channels has now surpassed 500 million monthly active users.

“In the first seven weeks, there were 500 million monthly activities on WhatsApp Channels!” “It’s great to see the WA community so engaged,” Mark Zuckerberg stated on his WhatsApp Channel as he announced the news.

Channels, a new feature on WhatsApp, allow users to receive updates from people, companies, and teams they follow on the messaging app. Channels are distinct from private chats, and who users follow is hidden from other followers.

The International Cricket Council, Mumbai Indians, Indian Cricket Team, Diljit Dosanjh, Katrina Kaif, Allu Arjun, Vijay Deverakonda, Chef Ranveer Brar, and TechBurner are some of the most famous Indian WhatsApp channels.

“My WhatsApp Channel is where I communicate with my fans in a personal and authentic manner…it feels like I’m connecting with them, sharing the most important moments of my life with them, just as I would with my friends and family back home.” “Whether it’s my new song, an exciting collaboration, or just a good morning message, WhatsApp Channels is where I express myself and feel closer to my community of fans,” stated Diljit Dosanjh, an Indian celebrity singer.

In September of this year, Meta debuted WhatsApp channels. The channels have recently received a sticker function. The Meta-owned Messaging Platform also revealed a new audio chat function for large groups earlier this week. The function works similarly to a group call, except instead of ringing each participant individually, it allows others to join in silently via an in-chat popup notification.
