WhatsApp will soon allow many profiles on a single account. WhatsApp’s feature set is constantly expanding, and according to claims from the WABetaInfo team, another new feature is on the way. Users of Meta’s messaging software will soon be able to create several profiles within a single account.
WhatsApp will soon allow many profiles on a single account
Even if you only have one account, this functionality will allow you to create separate accounts for your friends and coworkers. WhatsApp allows you to hide certain personal characteristics from your contacts, including your profile image, last seen status, and online status. This allows you to control what information is accessible to different groups of contacts.
When using an alternate profile, you’ll be able to show a different profile photo to your contacts, according to a screenshot released by WABetaInfo.
The other profile option, as shown in the image, will be accessible through the app’s privacy settings. However, because this feature is still in development, it is not presently available to beta testers. It will be offered for closed beta testing first before being made available on the public beta platform. As a result, it should eventually be provided in a stable form for everyone to use.
This current change comes on the heels of WhatsApp’s global debut of account switching, which provides a useful stopgap solution until alternate profiles are completely functioning. Account switching allows you to use several WhatsApp accounts on a single smartphone, eliminating the need for workarounds like app cloning or having a secondary device dedicated to accessing another WhatsApp account.
